ENROLMENT POLICIES
- Physical presence
The enrolment process requires that the student be physically present. This is because part of the enrolment procedure requires students to append their signature to relevant registration documents. Students also get to be shown around the premises to discover classroom placement, places of convenience, and general leisure spaces.
- Registration documents
Students are required to provide the following documents to the registration desk for the completion of their registration process:
- Two passport-size pictures (white background) for a student ID card and school records
- A valid national ID card or passport to ascertain the student’s identity
- Payment of fees
Fee payment is an integral part of the registration process. Students are required to pay the stated course fees in full before the commencement of their programme. In exceptional cases, an installment plan for the payment of fees may be negotiated with the school authorities. Where installment is granted, the last installment must be made at least three months to the end of the programme.
- Cancellation and Refunds
If you wish to cancel a course, you must put your request in writing (addressed to the Administrative and Finance Manager). The following cancellation conditions apply:
- Notice received at least 30 working days before the beginning of the course: Your registration fee will be retained and the balance of your fees refunded.
- Notice received between 15 and 29 days before the beginning of the course: 50% of your full fees will be retained as well as your registration fee.
- Notice received less than 15 working days before the beginning of the course: No refund can be made.
- Course period extension and Deferment
A student who wishes to extend his/her study period must do so before the end of the on-going course period by simply paying the balance for the total course period. If a student waits until the end of their course period before applying for an extension, this request will be considered as a new application for admission and the student will have to pay full tuition for the new course period.
A deferment refers to a student’s request to delay his/her study of the course and to carry forward his/her paid fees to a later period. Any student who wishes to defer his/her course for any reason must so request in writing (addressed to the Director of Studies), and must obtain written approval before the deferment. A course deferment cannot exceed 12 months, after which the deferment lapses.
- Changing Courses
A student may be allowed to change from a regular programme to an intensive programme and vice-versa. The student will have to pay any difference in fees as a result of the changes if the new programme fees are higher. However, no refund will be made by the school if the fees for the new programme are lower.
- Health and Disability Policy
Eagle Vision Institute maintains a First-Aid Point to provide immediate assistance in emergency situations. We, however, require any student who have peculiar health challenges, including chronic conditions to notify the Marketing and Student Welfare Manager immediately after registration. This will enable the school to assist the student in the appropriate manner.
Students with visible disabilities receive the same treatment as the rest of the students. EVI disallows any form of discrimination on the basis of one’s disability. We will endeavour to provide the necessary assistance to all students with disability. However, this may be limited sometimes by the configuration of our learning environment.
- Non-discrimination Policy
At Eagle Vision Institute everyone is equal. We do not discriminate on the grounds of gender, race, disability, nationality, ethnicity, status, age, religion, sexuality or any such description. EVI is a centre of diversity that celebrates the variety of linguistic, ethnic and cultural heritage of its members. Students and staff are required to immediately report to the designated officer any form of discrimination within our setting for investigation and appropriate action.
- Decent Behaviour Policy
Eagle Vision Institute requires all its students and staff to behave decently towards each other and third parties in and outside the school. Abusive behaviour is not tolerated. Abusive behaviour is understood as being any behaviour intended to hurt someone physically, emotionally or mentally, including but not limited to:
- Physical violence or inflicting physical pain or discomfort of any kind
- Sexual harassment, including physical and verbal abuse
- Threats of any kind
- Name calling, mockery or laughing at someone
- Dissemination of false information with malicious intent
- Intentional exclusion of someone from an activity
- Intentionally ignoring or refusing to work with someone on a legitimate project
- Coercing someone to do something that is not legitimately required of them
